RCDC schedules a Robb "teach-in "
The August meeting of the Rappahannock County Democratic Committee will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 1 at 7:30 p.m. at the Rappahannock Library. The focus of the meeting will be the record and accomplishments of Senator Chuck Robb who is running for reelection to the United States Senate. All Democrats who wish to become better informed and/or who have information to share are encouraged to attend this informative evening.

Roberts, Beckwith family reunion set
The Roberts and Beckwith families will host their second family reunion on Saturday, Aug. 5 beginning at noon at the Rappahannock Park on US 211 near Washington.

Clothes Closet sets date
The First Baptist Church in Washington will present its Clothes Closet on July 29 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will be clothes for all: women, men and children at no cost. Donations will be accepted. Anyone with questions or concerns should call Dorothy Butler at 987-8339 or Eunice Lewis at 675-1128. The church is located on Route 628 at the end of Main Street.
U-l 9 practice scheduled
Culpeper Comets U-19 girls soccer team will practice Wednesday evenings at 5:30 at St. Luke’s School. Players interested in participating in the fall season can call Barbara Dennee 829-6759.
Pickin' party planned
A pickin' party will be held at Hackley's Country Store on Saturday, Aug. 12 from 6 to 8 p.m. Bring your instruments, voices and lawn chairs and plan to have a good time! For more information call 937-5373. Rappahannock County 4-H members will be selling tickets for a 50/50 raffle to raise money for the 4-H General Fund to use for 4-H programs.
Physicals scheduled
Sport physicals will be given at Rappahannock Medical Center on Wednesday, July 26 from 2 to 4 p.m. Cost is $10 per person. Forms may be picked up at the Medical Center or from the Rappahannock School Board Office. For additional information or anyone with questions should call 987-8773.
