The wastewater-related stress was taken down a notch or two at the August meeting of the Washington Town Council. Charlie Tompkins, chairman of the Wastewater Study Committee that was dissolved at the July meeting, did not attend; Vice Mayor Steve Critzer has still not returned after his walk-out in April; and council member Alice Butler is vacationing, leaving a quorum-only sized council for the August meeting. .
