Bingo to benefit Flint Hill VFD
The Loyal Order of the Moose - Lodge 829 at 1340 John Marshall Highway in Front Royal is holding a benefit bingo game for the Flint Hill Volunteer Fire and Rescue Company for one night to help offset the losses from the annual carnival. On Saturday night it rained, therefore the event was not as profitable as expected. The game will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 22 with the proceeds going to the Flint Hill Volunteer Fire and Rescue Company.
Summer Reading Club finale set
On Saturday, Aug. 19 at 11 a.m. Summer Reading Club 2000 participants are invited to a club finale at the Rappahannock Library. Youngsters are invited to "come to our end-of-summer bash!" said Librarian Jennifer Glenn. Choose a free book, eat, drink, be merry and meet and learn about some great wild animals from the Wildlife Center of Virginia.
RLEP board of directors to meet
The monthly Rappahannock League for Environmental Protection (RLEP) board of directors meeting will take place Monday, Aug. 21 at 7:30 p.m. at the Rappahannock County Library. Meetings are open to the public.

Teacher/student show planned
The Middle Street Gallery will have an exhibition of art by students from Rappahannock County High School, two high schools in Fauquier County and also art by some younger home-schooled children. Work by some adult students of Lois Manookian will also be on display. This show will run through the end of August.
Bowen reunion slated
