Karate classes to begin
Shorin-Ryu Okinawan Karate classes will be held beginning Wednesday, Sept. 13 at Ki Theatre in Washington. Band Booster meeting set

Whorton family reunion slated
A family reunion will be held Sept. 2 at the Rappahannock Park near Washington for the late Henry T. Whorton and Lillie M. Cloud Whorton. Family and friends are invited to come and bring a picnic basket.
Summit scheduled
The Rappahannock Conservation council and the Rappahannock River Basin Commission are co-sponsoring the third Rappahannock River Basin Summit. This year's summit is titled “People Building Solutions". The summit will be held Aug. 23 at the Holiday Inn Select in Fredericksburg. The day will begin at 8:30 a.m. with registration and end at approximately 4 p.m.
Registration is $15 per person and includes lunch and all materials. The summit will focus on enhancing public support of the restoration for the Rappahannock River. The summit will consist of facilitated discussions of water quality issues where participants can discuss water quality issues and share their interests and concerns with others throughout the River Basin. Music Festival dates set
The dates for the fifth annual festival of Rappahannock music have been set for Saturday, Sept. 9 and Sunday Sept. 10, rain or shine. The two-day festival is sponsored by the musicians, all of whom will be playing for free, and a 100 percent volunteer staff. This annual concert is free, including free parking and free admission. Anyone with questions or desiring more information should call Brian Ross at 987-9100.
Attention: Singers
The Front Royal Oratorio Society and its Music Director, George Amos will begin rehearsals for its 2000-2001 season on Monday, Sept. 11 at 7:30 p.m. at the Front Royal Presbyterian Church. Prospective new members are welcome; no auditions required. Come and join singers from a six-county area!
Mr. Amos promises an outstanding season for singers and audiences alike. The first concert will feature the Gloria of Antonie Vivaldi and the Magnificat by John Rutter. This concert will be the culmination of the Society's 40th anniversary year. The program for the spring concert will be announced later. For more information call 622-6974.
