Mr. Payne said he was especially fp*ate» ( ful to the many volunteers who are willing the help the organization at a moment notice. He also had words of praise for those who currently serve on the Headwaters Board of Directors: Steve Carroll, Lisle Carter, Linda Dietel, Dave Gillis, Sally Havstad, Molly Hobson, Werner Krebser, Peter Kreyling, Theresa Light, Cliff Miller, Charlotte Nichols, Amy Kellert Payette, Nancy Reeve, Tom Taylor, Laurel Van Horn, Jane Wilson and Martin Woodard.
"These are the people who make this organization work," he noted. Mr. Payne added that assistant superintendent Mary Anne Biggs and school board member Franklin Warner currently serve as ndn-voting members of the board. They serve as liaisons between Headwaters and the school system.
When asked what was Headwaters biggest challenge, Linda Tarry, executive Director, said, "Fund raising is always^* challenge. Our biggest fund raising evetfc«C>v the year, the "Taste of Rappahannock,"" is coming up next month, on Sept. 16. This is the second year for the event. Last year’s was a great success, and in fact sold out early. The evening features wines from local vineyards, appetizers from county Bed & Breakfasts, and a wide variety of dinner dishes from county restaurants and farms."
