Norman reunion planned

The annual Norman reunion will be held on Sunday. Aug. 26 at the Rappahannock Park on US 211 near Washington. A picnic lunch will be served at 1 p.m. at the Pavilion All friends and relatives are invited to attend. Please bring a covered dish and a beverage to share. “Looking forward to a great afternoon of fellowship, food and games," said an organizer.

Shooting match slated

The Castleton Community Volunteer Fire Company is sponsoring a shooting match on Friday nights beginning at 7 p.m. starting on Sept 7 Rules are 12 gauge shotguns: 25 yard shooting range: no scopes, no sleeves and 36 inch barrel maximum length

Fees to Park waived Aug. 25

Superintendent Douglas Morris announced recently that entrance fees for Saturday. Aug. 25 will be waived in celebration of the 85th anniversary of the National Park Service. Recreation use fees charged for other than admission, i.e., camping, will remain in effect.

On Aug. 25. 1916 President Woodrow Wilson signed the act creating the National Park Service. “We encourage Rappahannock citizens to take advantage of this very special opportunity to come enjoy a day in the park," said Morris.

Beahm reunion announced

The George Washington-Nancy Bolen Beahm reunion will be held on Sunday. Sept. 2 at the Rappahannock Park near Washington. Everyone is asked to bring a covered dish an drink of choice.

Table covers, plates, plastic eating ware. etc. will be available. All are welcome. Lunch will be served at 1 p.m.
