Commissioner A1 Henry noted that there is a sixty day window from the time that someone applies (to the State) for a permit for land application of sludge, and that window would offer the time for enactment of the ordinance. He also reported that he was told, in conversations with a sludge hauler, that Rappahannock County is of minimal interest to them because of the lack of “spreadable” acres.
He said that the hauler estimated that there was no more than 2,000 acres in the County that may be of value for sludge application.
