Back-to-School

Rappahannock Public Schools will be back

in session come Monday for 2001-2002

This upcoming Monday, Aug. 27 the

Rappahannock County Public Schools System

will resume for the 2001-2002 session. School administrators, teachers and other personnel are excited about the beginning of a new year, never mind the children and especially those entering kindergarten.

, We take this time to encourage county residents to be careful come Monday morning as the buses begin to roll for another year. It goes without saying that the roads in our county will begin carrying our most precious cargo: our children. We encourage drivers to slow down and allow extra time for your drive to work. Reduce speeds in school zones and allow buses the room they need to operate safely.

We have all been delayed by a slow-moving bus at one time or another, but let’s practice patience. The consequences of rushing to beat a bus certainly can hardly compare with being a few moments late for an appointment.

The best way to keep your cool is to allow some extra time in the morning — especially in the school zones. That way you won’t have to get upset about that slow moving bus or other vehicle in front of you. A leisurely drive to work could become a great way to begin each day. ! We wish all the school children, teachers and administrators a great school year!
