Lewis Parr Armstrong, 49, of Culpeper, died suddenly on Jan. 9. He was born Jan. 21,1953 in Richmond to Dr. Thomas Weedon Armstrong Jr. and Lucille Lewis Armstrong.
Dr. Lewis was a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of the University of Richmond where he was a member of Kappa Alpha Fraternity and served on the Honor Council.
He graduated from the Medical College of Virginia Dental School in 1978. He joined the dental practice of his father after graduation and practiced with him for ten years. At that time his father retired and he took over his father’s practice. He continued to practice dentistry until the time of his death.
Dr. Lewis was an active member and Elder of the Culpeper Presbyterian Church. He was an active member of the Rotary Club of Culpeper for 18 years and was named a Paul Harris Fellow. He also served on the board of Second Bank & Trust for many years, and he was past chairman of the Culpeper chapter of the American Cancer Society.
In addition to his parents, Dr. Lewis is survived by his wife, Mollie Moore Armstrong and two sons, Kenneth Weber Armstrong and Bradley Parr Armstrong. He is also survived by his brother, Thomas Weedon Armstrong III, his sisters, Maryan Armstrong Kearney and Elizabeth Armstrong Spencer, a niece and six nephews.
