banquet honored

Over 100 coaches, players, parents, umpires and members of the community were present at the inaugural Piedmont Softball Association banquet on Jan. 11 at the Bill Payne Auction Gallery in Amissville.
The banquet was the kick-off for both the new organization and the 2003 softball season.
A highlight of the evening was the special recognition given Sam Aylor of Amissville for his decades of involvement with area youth.
Mr. Aylor has been an umpire for both softball and baseball for many years. He received a personalized plaque and large trophy from the PSA Board of Directors in appreciation of his dedication and interest.
Also recognized with awards for their years of both regular and All-Star team play were Eva Mills and Hope Jacobs, both of Amissville.
