Students of Rappahannock County Middle School and High School are busy getting their science projects ready for the Science Fair which will lie held from Jan. 29-31.
The public is invited to visit the fair from noon until 7 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 30. Displays will be in the Multipurpose Room at Rappahannock County Elementary School. Students at the Middle School level are investigating a variety of topics.
Animal lovers will want to check out Jonathan Butlers project on "The Effects of Dietary Supplements on the Behavior, Morbidity and Reproduction Rates of "Daphnia Magna."
Those who like human studies should check out: Lisa Donahue's "Can You Live without a Thumb?," Rashad Alexander's "The Effect of Tactile Stimulus on the Attentiveness of Students," and Beth Martin’s "Who Remembers More, Boys and Girls?" Botanists should eryoy Jake Dore's "The Effect of Management Techniques on Sugar Cane Production in Louisiana."
Chemistry experts should investigate Jeff Booher's "The Effect of Temperature on pH," Nikki Bowers' "The Effects of Pineapple Juice, Gingerale, and Lemon Juice on the Oxidation Rate of an Apple," and Michael Gallihugh's The Effects of Enzymes on Chewing Gum."
Physics lovers should enjoy Travis Jenkins' "Batter, Batter, SPRING Batter: The Effect of Temperature on the Flight of Baseballs' and Alan Clatter
