Twu of the varsity spring sports teams are on the verge of capturing Bull Run District regular season titles.

The varsity boys’ soccer team and varsity girls’ softball team should, with wins this coming week, be crowned regular season champions in the Bull Run District.

Tile varsity boys’ soccer team picked up three wins last week defeating Manassas Park, Clarke County and George Mason. The three wins improved their record to 8-0 in the Bull Run District and 11-0 overall.

The wins over Clarke 3-0 and George Mason helped put distance between the Panthers and the rest of the Bull Run field. After playing Clarke to a 1-0 halftime score, the Panthers put two second half goals on the board for the final margin of victory. Ralph Pace, Jose Azevedo and John Letsen tallied for the winners.

The team defeated the George Mason Mustangs 4-1 to end the week. A win against either Brentsville, Strasburg or George Mason this week will clinch a tie for the Bull Run regular season title. Two wins would guarantee the Panthers first place in the regular season.
