Washington died April 28 at his residence.
Mr. Jenkins was a veteran, farmer and carpenter.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Atkins Jenkins of Washington; four sons, Jonas Jenkins Jr., Jack Jenkins of Washington, Bill Jenkins of Front Royal and Jimmy Jenkins of Clifton; and a daughter, Betty Settle of Washington.
He is preceded in death by one daughter, Ann Clatterbuck and one sister, Ester Woodard.
A graveside service was held May 1 at Washington Masonic Cemetery with Rev. John Burke and Rev. Phil Bailey officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Washington Fire Department, P. O. Box 238, Washington, Va. 22747.
Dr. Robert Rodgers
Veterinarian
Dr. Robert James Rodgers, 91, died on April 22. ‘
A long-time resident of Flint Hill, he served as a veterinarian since his graduation from Tfexan A&M in 1941 when he married Juanda Mae Bentley.
He worked with large animals for the U. S. government from North Carolina, Tbxas, California and New York.
He was a master mason.
He is survived by his family: Karan Rodgers; Stephanie and Jennifer Tbrneden; Jill, Jack, and Lauren Humphries; Daliah and Richard Macon; Becky and Lad Nicholson; Thomas Louis Rodgers; and by his loving friends Pat and Clarence Shifflett.
He was preceded in death by sisters Sallie Anne Rodgers and Mary Ellen Porter; and wife Juanda Bentley.
A memorial service, conduc ed by Reverend James Wood, was held at the Tfeague Funeral Home on April 24.
