Laura Maloney gave a speech in the Prepared Presentation contest. She used a PowerPoint presentation as her audiovisual aide. Her efforts won a third place in the state.
Morgan Blubaugh, Nathan Welch and Bruce Flinchum placed third in the state in Cyberspace Pursuit. They had to design and publish an Internet web site that highlights the school’s technology education program. The URL is www.zepeda.org/CP 2003 (this URL has a space between CP and 2003 and may be viewed 24 hours a day / seven days a week.
This same team also entered the Technology Bowl contest. Their combined score on a written test earned them a berth in the oral finals. Only 10 teams in the state obtained this level. They lost in the rounds but represented RCHS professionally.

They designed, constructed and operated a mechanical device that collects a variety of balls from a gaming court in the least possible time. This follows the school curriculum in science of utilizing simple machines. Their efforts placed them in the finalists’ heats. A second place trophy was awarded them during the final ceremony.
Clay also won a second place trophy in Prepared Speech.
