he “robbed the rich to help the poor,” Robin had to overcome some pretty strong resistance from his Merry Women, who felt that they themselves were the deserving poor.
The Sheriff of Nottingham, played wickedly by Alex Purnell, stayed true to form, although in this version, he took a very long time to die and, during his soliloquy, quoted Abraham Lincoln and quite a few others yet unborn for that period.
The lovely Maid Marian was played by Robin Oyster, Little John was played by Rachel Marx; Annie by Michelle Fegeas; Sue by Taylor Miller, the Guard by Cat Tbth; and the Sellers played by Kate Kevis and Karie von Fange.
This spoof had some new characters, including Witch Way, whose sisters, Witch One and Witch Time, only added to the general hilarity of the evening.
The performance had many other subtle plays on words and verse. When asked what struck her most about the production, director Sullivan declared, “The cast and crew did an incredible job, particularly when you consider how the frequent snow days and competing sports schedules played havoc with our practices.”
At the conclusion of the performance, special recognition was given to Miss Matthews for overseeing the lights, props, costumes and program, and to Dan Carrier, Patrick Dale, Danielle Dombrowski, Ben Luke, Saawan Mehta and Kevin Riedel for their behind-thescenes help.
