Last Tuesday night, a 400 pound bear (referred to as Benita) visited the McCutchen residence on Lizzie Mills Road. Benita pushed the chain link dog kennel, dog house and all, about two feet off of the concrete slab before Betty was awakened and turned on the spot lights.
Benita was caught in the act of not only trying to steal the dog food, by ripping a hole in the chain link, but the dog, Nacha, as well. The McCutchens and Benita had a short staring match before the bear finally walked away calmly. Poor Nacha was frightened but not harmed.
Among about 70 attendees at The Theatre in Little Washington’s final concert of the season Saturday night were Robert and Rose Reed and Bob Ryan. Amy Leung performed J. S. Bach’s Suite No. 2 in d minor for Unaccompanied Cello, BWV 1008, followed by Hasse Borup’s performance of J.S. Bach’s Sonata No. 3 in C major for Solo Violin, BWV 1005. After a short intermission, the two joined together to play Maurice Ravel’s Sonata for Violin and Cello. It was truly a “grand” finale.
Ronnie White celebrated his 50th birthday on May 12. Angie and Ronnie White’s granddaughter Tatyana’s third birthday is on May 30.
