Rappahannock County where our night skies (when not covered by clouds) are observable by just looking up and being amazed at the number of stars that we can see.
Others in Northern Virginia are not so lucky because bright lights and smog obscure their view. Our night sky is another of “The Treasures of Rappahannock County” that we can take for granted.
Hopefully, with several planned observances during this year and next we can avoid this possibility by learning what we have to do to protect and preserve. So, with refreshments in hand, they saw, they learned and departed the gathering with a desire to learn more, anticipating the next time on Nov. 8.
