Lester A. Monroe

Amissville native

Lester Alan Monroe, 88, of Amissville died May 16 at Fauquier Hospital.

He was born Oct. 29, 1914 in Pendleton, Ore. to the late Richard and Lula Monroe.

Mr. Monroe was a member of the Elks Lodge #1281 in Guam.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Wilma P. Monroe, a son, Richard Alan Monroe, and a daughter, Linda Joyce Green, all of Amissville.

Additional survivors, include a sister, Ruth Serena of Norwalk, Conn., a brother, Millard Monroe of Yoncall, Ore., and four grandchildren.

A funeral service was held on May 21 at Amissville Baptist Church.

Interment was in the church cemetery in Amissville.
