Herrema is survived by his wife of 37 years, the former Joan McKeever of Washington, DC.; four siblings; two daughters, Jennifer and Amy; and a grandson, Mael Louis Herrema Chevrolet, bom of Amy and Sebastian Chevrolet.
A memorial service and mass will be held at St. Peter Catholic Church, at Second and C Streets, S. E., in Washington, D C. at noon on Saturday, June 21. Internment will follow at 4:30 p.m. at “The Oaks,” the Herrema home at 98 Struthers Lane.

Former county sheriff
John Walker Jenkins, 70 of Culpeper died June 13 at the Evergreen Nursing Care Center.
He was bom Feb. 7, 1933 in Culpeper to the late Luther S. Jenkins and Della Fincham Jenkins and was a native of Rappahannock County for 57 years.
Mr. Jenkins served in the U. S. Army Artillery during the Korean Conflict. He was a State Auctioneer for 35 years and served as a deputy sheriff and sheriff of Rappahannock County for over 11 years.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Luther Jenkins, Jr. and one sister, Margaret Butler Goodman.
