had lost a March runoff to Jean Goodine for appointment to the council seat vacated by Gene Leggett when Leggett was selected as mayor, gained the prospect of town visibility by his selection to the town’s Planning Commission.
Fowler was the only town resident to express an interest in the position. He was nominated by Claudia Mitchell and unanimously accepted by the council.
Mayor Leggett said he was “kind of happy to see this— -Brandon has shown an interest .. . and a willingness to serve.”
Council member Jeff Benson, who has served as council representative to the Planning Commission, resigned that position to leave Goodine as the sole council member on the Planning Commission, in accordance with town ordinances.
Other activities:
Without comment, the council approved the $1.8 million town budget for Fiscal Year 2004 that had been publicly heard at last month’s meeting.
