Robert L. Herrema, a Rappahannock county resident since 1989, died at his home in Washington on June 13. He was 63 years old and had been battling cancer for several years.
A political aide and pioneer builder in Washington, D.C., Herrema and his wife, Joannie, moved to the county after purchasing and renovating a two-story farm house, called “The Oaks," on Struthers v Lane in Washington. '.The newly furbished home, which commands a majestic view of the mountains, was on the house tour in 1990.
