• Mayor Leggett reported that “many things have happened” with regard to the prospective wastewater treatment system. He said that a survey was completed on the Clopton property (an alternative wastewater treatment plant site) and that when the report is received work will begin on appraisal of the alternatives.
• Claudia Mitchell reported that she and Treasurer Jerry Goebel had attended a seminar on applying for grants for such capital projects as the wastewater treatment system, and they leameji how complex the processes. She noted that two of the agencies had agreed to come to Washington later this summer to speak with residents.
• Jeff Benson and Claudia Mitchell reported on the progress of the June 27 and June 28 auction of Avon Hall contents. Auction brochures have been mailed to town residents and sales lists are available online at the auctioneer’s website (www.greenvalleyauctions.com).
• During the public forum Barbara Stockton encouraged the council to host an Independence Day event for towp residents. She agreed to participate in a telephone tree to inform residents that there will be a “bring-your-own” picnic on the Fourth at Avon Hall.
