Katie Giles, a Girl Scout from Washington, has earned the Gold Award, the highest achievement given by the Girl Scouts of the USA.
She received her award from the Girl Scouts of Virginia Skyline Council last month. She has been in Girl Scouting for 13 years and is a Senior Girl Scout in Troop 929.
Giles is the daughter of C.E. and Pat Giles. She will be a senior this fall at Rappahannock County High School. Her Gold Award advisor and troop leader is Karen Alexander of Flint Hill.
