The Fauquier County Government is recruiting for the position of Agricultural Development Officer This position is responsible for developing. recommending, and implementing strategies for promoting the County's agriculture industry and creating greater economic opportunity in the agriculture sector. Objectives include retan*ig and creating markets, increasing public awareness and devefopng public policy to encourage the agriculture industry Administrative duties include creating and managing an assgoeo budget, supervision of staff coordination of volunteers and committee staffing.
Qualified applicants should possess a B acne lor s degree in agrcuF turai economics, marketing, public relations, business or a related fiekl supplemented by five years of progressively responsible experience in agricultural economics or related agricultural business: or any equivalent combination of education training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job Extensrve experience n agricultural development, agribusiness or agn-tounsm is strongly preferred
Minimum starting salary is $41,573.00
