Additionally five Junior Girl Scouts from Troop 2329 were presented with their Bronze Awards. This is the highest award a Junior Girl Scout can earn. It shows that the scout has made a promise to help others and improve their community and world.
The Bronze Award Project takes 15 hours to complete. The five girls who earned their Bronze Awards were the first in Rappahannock County to do so.
Kristen ONeill sent out letters and made phone calls asking for donations of canned food for Rappahannock Social Services. She collected more than 180 cans of food for its office.
Vicki Padgett worked with a loom and created a baby blanket for a needy child, which she will present to one of the Girl Scout Gold recipients to help her with her Gold Award Project.
Sarah Merritt learned how to crochet and make a baby blanket for a needy child, which will also be presented to a Girl Scout Gold Award recipient for her Gold Award Project
Elizabeth Welch completed her project by attending a "Feast or Famine" at the Washington Baptist Church. She collected pledges and ate only beans and rice.
Juleah Clement worked with her grandmother manning an aid station for the Old Dominion Races. She also helped with setting up and taking down the stations and cleaning.
