Donald Keyser, who currently resides in Northern Virginia, will “return to his roots” when he performs a concert at the Theatre in Washington on Gay Street on Saturday, Jan. 24 at 8 p.m.
The concert is titled “Close to Home.” Keyser was bom and raised in Rappahannock County on Red Oak Mountain. He is a son of Rappahannock resident, Addie Keyser, who is 101 years of age and who, herself, plays the country-style fiddle, banjo and mouth harp.
As a young man, Donald Keyser, whose grandfather and great-grandfather were also “oldtime” fiddle players, played country music on live radio shows in the Shenandoah Valley. He continues to perform in the
