Against Madison on Jan. 7, the Lady Panthers scored first on a free throw by Molly Burke but the Mountaineers ran off the next 16 points to put the Panthers in a big hole. The Panthers could not get anything going offensively scoring just five field goals for the game. Brittany Thornhill scored 12 of the Lady Panthers’ 19 points of the evening. The best quarter for the Lady Panthers was the fourth when they put eight points on the board.
Against Wakefield on Jan. 10, the Owls scored the first four points before the Lady Panthers outscored the Owls 8-2 the remainder of the quarter to take an 8-6 lead.
Hutcheson spurred a Panther rally by scoring six third quarter points to push the Panthers’ advantage out to 29-20. Tfen fourth quarter points, six by Thornhill and four by Woodweird provided the final margin of victory for the Lady Panthers.
