Versatile office
manager
Rappahannock News Office Manager Jan Clatterbuck of Washington also joined the newspaper about a year ago.
A native of Rappahannock County and 1973 graduate of RCHS, Clatterbuck handles the day-to-day business of the newspaper, with a focus on customer service.
Clatterbuck came to the News after a 10-year career in the hospital field. Previously, she was an emergency room clerk at Fauquier County Hospital, and assistant manager of dietary operations at Culpeper County Hospital.
Although Clatterbuck tells people that “paper work is her thing,” in an emergency, she has gone out on stories.
Last year, she wrote stories about a bear’s invasion in a yard on Aaroji Mountain Road and a dramatic auto accident in Chester Gap.
“Jan first joined the News as an administrative assistant, but we quickly expanded her role,” noted Ibler.
The new writer
Nick Horrock joined the team as the Rappahannock News staff writer, after stepping down on Jan. 1, 2004 as the Chief White House correspondent for United Press International.
Earlier in their careers, Kuhn and Horrock worked together as journalists in Washington, D.C. Horrock covered Washington presidential administrations from President Lyndon Johnson through George W. Bush.
