Dr. Young’s other interests included the Rappahannock Association for the Arts, the Rappahannock Players and the Democratic Party. He was ve~y active in the Movie Film Committee for the Washington Theatre. Photography and gardening were his favorite hobbies. In 1991, he became a certified Master Gardener for the State of Virginia.
Survivors include his wife of almost 55 years, Annette (Mitzie) Young, a former psychiatric social worker, social work administrator and later a real estate agent, and four children: Arianne, a psychiatric and medical-surgical nurse in Harrisonburg, Va.; Kevin, a physician in Plymouth, N.H.; Lorraine, a CPA in Fairfax City, Va.; and Michael, mechanic and breeder of Arabian horses in Lithia, Fla.; four grandchildren, Christopher, Lauren, Andrew, and Michael Jaimes.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to any of the following: Headwaters Endowment, Rappahannock League for Environmental Protection, Rappahannock Association for the Arts and the Community, Rappahannock County Conservation Alliance, or any other educational or environmental organizations in Rappahannock County.
