The next home match against Fauquier scheduled for Jan. 16 at Rappahannock High School will be rescheduled. Fauquier and Rappahannock are sending four members each to the Virginia Middle School Duals held in Richmond.
These eight wrestlers will be wrestling for the Culpeper Cobra’s Wrestling Club. Please wish Greg Flournoy, Conner Miller, Chris Lee, and Ben Pendleton luck if you see them. The competition in Richmond will be tough, but the experience will be invaluable.
The Young Panthers also won their first match over Locust Grove (Orange County) in a run-away on Dec. 17. We wrestled like champions and only lost one match the entire day. As a first match for many of the boys, it was an unbelievable day.
The wrestling team is still looking for members. It has current open slots for 70, 75, 112, 119,125,189, and Heavyweight. Any 6th-8th-grade students who are interested should show up at the elementaiy cafeteria from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. each school day.
