Arthur was referring to the “hands-on” aspect of her curriculum that allows the students to learn not only how to prepare food but also to master other essential fundamentals of being a professional chef— such as setting a formal table, serving food, and working as a team.
The students have this opportunity several times each year when they prepare food and desserts for a number of non-profit organizations in the county, including Headwaters and the Center •for Children and Learning (CCLC).
Becoming familiar with food from other cultures and preparing international menus are unique highlights of the culinary arts course. Students also go on field trips to international restaurants.
