Civil War speaker
The Blue Ridge Civil War Round Table will host Thomas Blumer, who will speak on "Belle Boyd & the History of Front Royal in the Civil War," at its meeting on Tuesday. Feb. 17 at the Rappahannock County Library. Doors open at 7 p.m. with the presentation at 7:30 p.m. The public is invited.
George Washington contest
With George Washington's birthday fast approaching, Rappahannock County Library announces its 2004 George Washington Picture and Word Poster Contest. Picture posters will be accepted from K - 5th grade and Word Posters from 3rd - 5th grade. Word posters may include both essays and poetry. Posters may not be larger than 24 x 24 inches. Home schooled and public and private school students must be residents of Rappahannock County. Entries are due at RCL by Tuesday afternoon, Feb. 17. All entries will receive a participant's award. Flyers are available at RCL or online at www.rappahannocklibrary.org.
