might say, “poor Rappahannock...” many in the county revel in, brag about, treasure.
The only “denigrating” aspect of Ms. Silver’s characterization of the county is the fact that Ms. Silver’s work highlights, however unintentionally, the abject failure of some of our county leadership, especially Mr. Frazier’s, as he most frequently leads the opposition to repeated attempts to address the basic educational and recreational needs of our community. No wonder he’s cranky.
The citizens Mr. Frazier fears have been “infuriated” may well feel they are being stiffed or short-changed. The litany of failure Mr. Silver innocently brought to light is not her failure but the failure of those in the position to do something about it—like Mr. Frazier. Shall we let him “shoot the messenger?”
That Mr. Frazier thinks, because a person works in a similar capacity to their work for the county, that their own personal work must be subject to his review and censorship is disconcerting to say the very least.
But the fact that Mr. Frazier thinks that he can rip the livelihood from any county employee for stating an obvious truth betrays the hubris of j someone who has been in office far too long.
One would hope the Board of Supervisors will take the time to get the facts and set the record straight, speak to Ms. Silver and Headwaters, and until they have done so, postpone any action that may have been instigated at Mr. Frazier’s behest.
