I he course was conducted Jan. 19 and 20 by PowerPhone, one of the largest professional emergency training companies in the country. The company’s spokesman, Greg Sheehan said PowerPhone has trained 110,000 emergency communicators nationwide and recentlycompleted an assessment of the United Nations command and control center.
The training came as Rappahannock’s fire dispatch system came under criticism from some fire officials who said the dispatchers were sometimes unfamiliar with fire and rescue methodology, distracted by other duties and made crucial errors.
