clearing the woods behind our house. It seemed the zoning laws had changed and the developers had swooped in to make their fortunes. Soon, sewer lines were being installed. Tbwn houses along with small single-family homes on postage stamp size lots were sprouting up around our quiet slice of paradise.
With the constant drone of heavy equipment it was an easy decision for my parents to sell our home and move. I am pleased to say they did not sell to a developer, but to a small growing family much like our own. I have the opportunity to travel Kirby Road once in awhile, which resembles a parking lot during rush hour. Our old house is gone, replaced by five homes on that same three acres. In fact you can’t tell it is the same place it was 35 years ago.
