Special to the Rappahannock News

The Rappahannock Association for the Arts and Community will show “Lost in Translation” on Friday, April 16 at 8 p.m. at The Theatre on Gay Street in Washington.

This “dramedy” features Bill Murray (First Saturday Night Live cast) and Scarlett Johansson (“Girl with the Pearl Earring.”)

Murray plays Bob Harris, a frustrated, lonely, sad, droopy, middle-aged, washed-out actor from the states who is visiting Tbkyo to promote a brand of Japanese whisky. (“You know Rat Pack?” his Japanese director asks him. ' “Oh, yeah sure. A ring-a-ding-ding.”)

Johansson plays Charlotte, a young lady who has come to Tbkyo with her husband John (Giovanni Ribisi), a photographer who leaves her in a fancy hotel for a few days when he goes to a photo shoot session.
