The Amissville United Methodist Women are sponsoring a two-day yard sale at the church on Friday, April 30 from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. and Saturday, May 1 from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. Proceeds benefit the church building fund. The church is located on Route 211 in Amissville.
Relay for Life flea market
Relay for Life Cancer Walk teams will host a flea market/garage sale on Saturday, May 1 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. next to Settle’s Garage in Flint Hill in front of Braeland and Fly by Night Bookstore. Support the American Cancer Society. Contact is Michelle 675-3157. Rain date: May 2.
Lions Club auction May 1
Lions Club President Tom Tepper asks county residents to support the Annual Lions Club Auction at Bill Payne's Auction Barn on May 1 at 5 p.m. Proceeds support community activities that help those who need it most. The club is soliciting donations of furniture, tools, glassware, collectibles and other merchandise, suitable for resale, to be auctioned. Annual Spring Plant Sale
Join local, small growers and shop for perennials, shrubs, native plants, vegetable starts, cut flowers and spring produce at Waterpenny Farm on Route 211 in Sperryville on Saturday, May 1 from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Sunday, May 2 from noon to 5 p.m. There also will be a tree-give-away and refreshments by Hearthstone School. May Day celebration
A Thousand Faces Mask Theatre group of Castleton will perform “A May Day Celebration” on Saturday, May 1 with a drumming group led by Wendi Sirat. There are two performances: 12 noon in the fields of Waterpenny Farm, Sperryville as part of its spring plant sale, and at 1:30 p.m. on the lawn behind Sperryville Pottery and Blueridge Artisans. Everyone is welcome.
Democrats meet May 4
