Second 2004 easement granted Patricia Burke and Walter Sorrel of Washington have granted the second Rappahannock County conservation easement of 2004. Recorded on April 22, this easement protects 50 acres on Hickerson Mountain bringing the countywide easement total to 16,245 acres (11.9 percent of all private land here). It is the first easement on Hickerson Mountain. may lie beyond our vision but which does not lie entirely beyond our control. 'Arthur Arundel is Publisher of the Rappahannock News, Fauquier Times-Democrat, Loudoun Times-Mirror, Clarke Hmes-Courier and other area newspapers here. He lives with his family at The Plains and is founder of the non-profit Great Meadow field events center, site of an adaptive use of a 700-acre Fauquier farm slated to become 500 houses until he bought and donated it for perpetual preservation in open space. 1
