under team, The Heat, sponsored by the Rappahannock Lions Club. This spring team (rostered with every girl who registered, from beginners through experienced, 13 years old through 181 posted a regular season record of 18-3 against teams from Manassas, Warren, and Madison.
These girls were members of the very first Rappahannock-based Babe Ruth softball team to progress to the regional level where state champions from Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Florida, and Tennessee participated. Twelve PSA girls in two vans, followed by a convoy of parents, traveled 13 hours each way to play bigtime softball in Florida, an experience they’ll never forget. Piedmont sincerely thanks the supporters of our hometown team for affording them this opportunity.

While these girls did not win any games at the state level, they came away with an intense determination to work ' towards success in 2005.
Between tournament levels, the PSA 8 and Under AllSt^r team made an appearance in the annual Amissville VFD/RS parade in June, where it won a trophy for bestappearing civic group. Accompanied by neon green, black, and white streamers and balloons, the girls yelled cheers during the entire parade route.
