Judie Poling is crowned queen of the AmissviUe Firemen’s carnival Friday night by Capt. L.B. Stuart. First runner-up is Peggy Stringfellow, and second runnerup is Brenda Hackley. Other contestants include Marlene Cordani, Sharon Suter, Ann Holmes and Peggy Cooke.
Tim Kilby, son of Mr. and Mrs. L. J. Kilby of Sperryville, has been accepted into Amateur Radio Emergency Corps. This is a special organization of amateur radio operators who assist in communications during emergencies.
Mrs. Myra Ferrier Wolf of Woodville received a Masters of Arts degree in Teaching (French) from the University of Virginia. She was among a record 286 receiving degrees, breaking a previous high of 273 degrees conferred in Aug. 1962. Mrs. Wolf teaches English and French at Rappahannock County High School.
Dr. John P. Snead of Sperryville was elected president of the Washington Apple Growers Cooperative, Washington, at a meeting Monday night.
