also apparent throughout the house, from the hand-painted designs on the kitchen floor to the cabinets crafted by Wilson and donned with a milk-based paint created by the pair. In the next room, Wilson’s spectacular work adorns walls decorated with glaze in a rag technique.
The easy banter and obvious affection between the two make' it clear that their long-time love has not only endured, but thrived. And, Wilson lights up when talking of his work almost as much as he does when he speaks of the couple's son, 15year-old Luke.
"He has very good art instincts," Wilson said of his son, noting that his current loves are art and sports, particularly baseball.

Art. in fact, is such a family affair that it is a component of many of their outings together.
“When we go to the museums, we usually go to look at one piece.. . usually it’s Pat saying, ‘I gotta go and see this one thing and see what they did and how they did it,” said Jane Wilson. Now that Luke is older, the family travels to museums together to study art.
“We’ll have sort of an art history tour. We’ll stand there and analyze a painting and discuss what makes it good and the background of who the artist was. It sounds pretty boring, but it’s fun for us,” Wilson laughed. “We do the same thing with baseball players at baseball games.”
At 50, Wilson is a mid-life artist who has received national recognition for his work in prestigious juried exhibitions and has participated in innumerable one-man, group, invitational, and museum exhibitions. Additionally, his work has been featured in a number of publications across the United States.
A member of The Washington. Society of Landscape Painters, Wilson’s work will be showcased locally during a show of the group’s Urban and Pastoral Scenes at the Packing Shed Gallery Sept. 2-27.
In March, Wilson was invited to participate in a 10-year retrospective exhibition at Mary Washington University’s Ridderhof Martin Gallery in Fredericksburg. He is represented by Long View Gallery in Sperryville, Somerville/Manning Gallery in Wilmington, Del., and The More Gallery in Philadelphia.
