A program like this may prove to be especially important in a traditionally agriculturebased community. To lose the basic skills of growing and raising food would change the face of Rappahannock County Students will hopefully gain an appreciation for fresh, locally grown fruits and vegetables and come to understand the value of our local food system.
Donations from community members are welcome for items such as native and perennial plants, straw bales for mulch, manure, short-handled digging forks, work gloves and rubber boots in varying sizes. Broken tools are also gladly accepted for repair and use by the students.
