A few tweaks to the condition book have led to overflowing entries at Virginia’s point-topoint season opener this Saturday.

The Feb. 23 Casanova Hunt Pbint-to-Point opens the spring steeplechase series, with a 12:30 p.m. post time at the Buckland Farm course north of Warrenton.

Race condition changes include an “automatic” combined owner-rider and foxhunters’ timber division (unless entries in each are sufficient for separate races.) This ensures a well-filled feature: Saturday’s headliner, the Casanova Cup owner-rider timber, attracted six, including 2007 series champions Jim Whitner and his Bien Allure.
