Aylor laughed and admitted that she has a hard time saying “no.” As a result, when she isn’t busy at Mt. Vernon either at the farmhouse or at the store where grain fed beef, lamb and pork are sold, she divides her time between numerous church activities and various associations. One of her greatest enjoyments is her music. Aylor plays the piano for First Baptist Church and sings in numerous choirs.
Lillian volunteers her time on the Board of the Aging Coalition, the Rappahannock Historical Society, Healthy Families of Rappahannock and she is currently serving as the Vice-President of the Scrabble School Preservation Foundation. Aylor’s face beams as she talks about the project’s recent successes and how she was “never worried” that the funds needed would be secured.
