Established in 1954 by a group of community volunteers. Fauquier Hospital is a not-for-profit community hospital and remains independently operated and governed by a volunteer Board of Trustees. In October. 2007 Fauquier Hospital received Planetree designation status, a model of health care that is patient-centered and provides a holistic approach to patient care.
As the only hospital in the county. Fauquier Hospital is the central hub of medical care in the area. The present facility was built in 1957 and has grown with several expansion projects, including the recent expansion of the Emergency Department.
