Jan. 27: Softball
Area girls, from beginning players to advanced, are invited to register for the Piedmont Softball Association's 2009 spring fastpitch softball season. Besides regular season games (both on PSA’s home field on Route 211 in Amissville and away), other activities include pitching clinics, tournaments, home run and RBI hitting awards. Offered for parents will be score keeping, umpire, and coaching clinics. Accepted will be girls born from 1990 through 2003. Registration fees are $40 for girls playing on any teams 12 years old or younger, and $45 for older players; $5 discount for second and additional registrants from the same household. Scholarships are available. Registrations are on Tuesday, Jan. 27 from 5:30 -7 p.m„ Saturday, Jan. 31 from 9 -11 a.m., Wednesday, Feb. 4 from 5:30-7 p.m., and Saturday, Feb.7 from 9-11 a.m. at Bill Payne Auction Gallery, Route 211 and Maddox Lane, Amissville. Jan. 28: Flower
arranging
Interested in creating beautiful designs with flowers? Classes on “Basic Flower Arranging” will be offered this winter on Wednesdays by the Rappahannock County Garden Club beginning Jan. 28. The classes, taught by Linda Taylor, will be held every Wednesday through March 11 at the Trinity Episcopal Church Parish Hall, 11 a.m. Designs will be simple, and experience is not necessary.
