Each month for the past three months someone new has joined the Washington Town Council, and John Bennett was the new face smiling at the table at the monthly meeting on Jan. 13. Earlier he was introduced to the council and other people he will work with in the community at a premeeting dinner at Mayor Stew Willis’ home. Council members enthusiastically welcomed him aboard.
At the Jan. 14 monthly meeting of the Town of Washington’s Architectural Review Board, the board approved an application for a two-story rear exit from Harry Carlip’s Heritage House. A window on the back of the building will be replaced by a door and will open onto a 6-by 8-foot landing with stairs. The structure will conform to the design and colors of the Heritage House.
