Local officials, citizens and school children filled The Theatre in Washington on Sunday afternoon, Jan. 18 to honor the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s legacy. Those attending included members of ' the Rappahannock School Board and Board of Supervisors.
This was the 18th year that the Julie E. Boddie Scholarship Committee sponsored the celebration to honor King’s memory in word and songs.
Robert Glasker, teacher at the Rappahannock County High School served as Master of Ceremonies and introductions were made by School Superintendent Robot Chappell and by the program director, Mrs. Nan Butler Roberts.
This year’s program featured the Divine Life Ministries Youth Choir of Culpeper. Beautiful voices filled the theatre house with hymns.
Hearthstone School in Sperryville and Wakefield County Day School in Flint Hill gave presentations.
