The board has publicly an nounced its intention to increase real and personal property levies by 50 cents and merchant's capi tal by 10 cents, with a public hearing on the increases set for Thursday, May 2, at 10 a. m. In its announcement of the proposed increases, the board said they are “to provide for the pay ment of tire deficit incurred the' past several years due to failure to ftx a rate of levy sufficient to pay authorized expenditures."
