Virginia, at which time and place citizens will be heard for or against the follow ing proposed , increases in local tax levies for the tax year begin ning January 1. 1957: An increase of fifty (50) cents in the rate of general county levy i on real and tangible personal pro perty (based on $100.00 of taxable values) and also an increase of ten (10) eents on capital of mer cants invested in business to pro vide for increasing costs for Coun ty purposes. Schools and Public Welfare purposes, and to provide for the payment of the deficit in curred in past several years due to failure to fix a rate of levy suf ficient to pay authorized expen ditures.
